Daniel Bathe manages Commodities-Invest, Europe's largest active long-only commodity fund, as well as market-neutral commodity strategies. In addition to his focus on commodities, he is an expert in crypto assets and is actively involved in the strategy definition and implementation of digital assets at Union Investment. In this role, Daniel also manages the UniThemen Blockchain Fund, which was launched in February 2024.

Before joining Union Investment in 2016, Daniel was responsible for the management of commodity funds and for energy and industrial metals research at Lupus Alpha Asset Management.
