Bastian Becker is General Manager of the Hotel Meliá Frankfurt City and, as Director of Operations South Germany, is responsible for six other hotels in Frankfurt and Munich as well as 320 employees and trainees. As a hotel business economist, he has been working in the industry for 30 years and at the age of 31 was already a hotel director at an international hotel group. He is responsible for the strategic orientation, budget and financial planning of his hotels. The biggest challenge in the industry is the shortage of skilled labour, which is why recruiting new employees and developing value-based management are equally important in his day-to-day work.
