
Prof. Dr. rer. pol. Stefan Bratzel is the founder and director of the independent research institute Center of Automotive Management (CAM) at the University of Applied Sciences in Bergisch Gladbach.
After studying political science at the Free University of Berlin and completing his doctorate, Bratzel became active in and around the automotive industry.
Born in 1967, he held various positions as product manager at the Daimler subsidiary smart, as program manager at the Telefonica subsidiary Group3G and as head of automotive business development at the medium-sized software company PTV.
Since April 2004, Stefan Bratzel has been working at the University of Applied Sciences in Bergisch Gladbach (near Cologne) as a lecturer and course director for Automotive Management and in Research & Consulting as Director of the local Auto-Institute CAM.
Stefan Bratzel's research focuses on the conditions for the success and survival of car manufacturers and suppliers as well as the future of mobility.
On the basis of empirical studies, he examines the innovation trends in the automotive industry and the business models of large IT groups and derives theses on the (automotive) mobility of the future.
As a distinguished industry expert, he is one of the most quoted automotive economists in Germany in the press, radio and television.
