
Roland Engehausen has been Managing Director of Bayerische Krankenhausgesellschaft e. V. since 2020 and has many years of experience in the healthcare sector. Previously, he was Chairman of the Management Board of IKK Südwest from 2014 to 2020 and Head of Division at Siemens BKK in Munich from 2009 to 2014.
In addition to his professional activities, Engehausen is involved in various committees and voluntary functions. He is a member of the Executive Committee and Chairman of the Technical Committee for Data Information and Data Communication of the German Hospital Federation (DKG). He is also Chairman of the Administrative Board of the DKTIG, a member of the Advisory Board of gematik and the Nürnberg School of Health and a member of the expert pool of the Innovation Committee of the Federal Joint Committee (G-BA). He is a guest lecturer at several universities and a member of the board of trustees of the Chair of Health Economics at Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences. He has written several specialist publications on digitalisation and promoting innovation in the healthcare sector, with a work on the future of care in hospitals planned for spring 2023. He is also involved in dementia self-help.
His academic education includes an Executive Master's degree from the Free University of Berlin and a degree in economics from Ostfalia University (Dipl.-Kfm.). He is also a qualified health insurance business economist.
