
Dr. Bernhard Hauke studied civil engineering at Technische Universität Darmstadt and subsequently completed his doctorate at The University of Tokyo with a Monbusho scholarship. After a decade as Head of Structural Engineering at HOCHTIEF Engineering in Frankfurt, he became Managing Director of bauforumstahl e.V. in Düsseldorf, where he consistently restructured the association with a strong focus on sustainable construction.
Since 2018, the DGNB Consultant has been Editorial Director of Ernst & Sohn publishing house in Berlin. In this role, he serves as Editor-in-Chief of the long-established specialist journal Stahlbau, publishes the Ingenieurbaukunst yearbook on behalf of the Bundesingenieurkammer, established the Ingenieurbaukunst – Design for Construction symposium, and founded the journal nbau. Nachhaltig Bauen in 2022. At IU International University of Applied Sciences, he teaches structural engineering, construction cost calculation, and sustainable construction.
