After studying computer science, Mr Holzbrecher-Morys initially devoted himself to research in a university environment from 2006, focusing on the further development of neuroinformatics methods for biosignal analysis. Since 2008, Mr Holzbrecher-Morys has been responsible at the German Hospital Federation (DKG) for electronic data exchange procedures in hospitals and the area of hospital information technology, in particular for technical data protection, IT risk management and information security. He is the spokesperson for the ‘Medical Care’ industry working group in the UP KRITIS. Since August 2017, initially as a deputy, he took over the management of the DKG's ‘Digitalisation and eHealth’ division in April 2020. Since April 2024, Mr Holzbrecher-Morys has also been a member of the Implementation Advisory Board of the National Platform for Strengthening Resilience.
