MOA Berlin

Bio

Deeply rooted in Moabit, Philip Ibrahim has been combining experience, networks, and talent development with Mercure MOA Berlin since March 2025. He leads the property with a strong connection to the neighborhood, a keen sense for community building, and great passion for hospitality.

In October 2019, Ibrahim opened The Student Hotel Berlin, now The Social Hub Berlin, a hybrid hotel concept that brings together accommodation for students, tourists, and long-stay guests at four-star level and redefines the concept of community.

Previously, he worked for more than 18 years for the European market leader Accor, where he developed new and innovative concepts, ranging from quiz nights and neighborhood markets to creative food and beverage ideas, inspiring both local residents and guests. Together with his team, he has been committed for years to training young people in the professions of chef, hotel specialist, and event manager.

Trained as a hotel specialist, Ibrahim gained extensive experience in various operational and sales roles at Accor.

In 2012, together with visitBerlin, he founded the pinkPillow initiative, a globally unique hotel alliance for the LGBTI community that stands for lived hospitality and diversity. As the initiator, he speaks internationally at industry events on inclusive and sustainable hospitality.

Since 2018, Philip Ibrahim has been active on the executive board of DEHOGA Berlin. In 2022, he was elected Vice President and Head of the Specialist Group for skilled labor development and innovation.
