
Dr. Thorsten Junkermann is Deputy Managing Director and Regional Director North at Landeskrankenhaus (AöR) and is responsible for the strategic and operational management of several facilities and hospital sites within Landeskrankenhaus. He is also Chief Digital Officer (CDO) for the state hospital, focussing on the strategic implementation of the digital transformation. The state hospital (AöR) is a member of the hospital community Hosp.Do.IT and is represented by him in working groups, among others.
Thorsten Junkermann studied economics and organisational sciences in Munich with a focus on operations research and statistics and completed his doctorate at the Faculty of Economics and Organisational Sciences at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich. His research and interests focus on quantitative systems theory, health economics and the strategic management of healthcare organisations. Thorsten Junkermann deepened his management skills in the healthcare sector through the "Management for Health Care Executives" certificate course at the University of St. Gallen under the direction of Professor Johannes Rüegg-Stürm. He is involved on a voluntary basis as Chairman of the Board of the AWT Institute for Economic Systems Theory and in various non-profit organisations and represents the interests of hospitals in the Rhineland-Palatinate Hospital Association and the Association of Hospital Directors.
