Christian Küchen, born on 24 March 1962, has been Managing Director of en2x - Wirtschaftsverband Fuels und Energie e.V. in Berlin since 1 November 2021. Born in Hamburg, he studied process engineering and was awarded a doctorate in chemical reaction engineering at the Technical University of Clausthal. From 1992 to 1995, he was responsible for the application technology of fuels and the fuel test benches of the German Shell AG in Hamburg. In 1995, Christian Küchen became Technical Managing Director of the Institute for Heat and Oil Technology (IWO) in Hamburg, in July 2003 Managing Director and in December 2013 Spokesman of the Management Board of IWO. From April 2015 to October 2021, Prof. Küchen was Managing Director of the German Petroleum Industry Association (MWV) in Berlin, the predecessor organisation of en2x together with the IWO. Since June 2004, Küchen has also been an honorary professor at the RWTH Aachen University.
