Dr. Ruperta Lichtenecker is an economist and has been Head of the Department for Climate Neutrality and Sustainable Transformation, Health at Gesundheit Österreich GmbH since 2022. As an economist, researcher, and manager, she has many years of experience in the fields of science, administration, business, and politics. The focus of her work has been on environmental economics and policy, climate protection, research, innovation, public health, health economics, health promotion, technology assessment, foresight, digitalization, energy economics and policy, economic policy, COVID-19 management, and crisis management.

Ruperta Lichtenecker studied economics at Johannes Kepler University Linz and the Vienna University of Economics and Business and completed her doctoral studies in social and economic sciences at Johannes Kepler University. She is also a lecturer at the Federal Academy of Public Administration and the University of Applied Sciences Krems.
