After training at an Austrian hotel management school, Alexander Mayrhofer trained as a chef, restaurant specialist and travel agent. After working in various hotels, including the five-star Hotel Schloß Fuschl and gastronomic self-employment in Austria, he worked as F&B Manager at the traditional Hotel Elephant in Weimar.

This was followed by 8 years in tourism management in Thuringia as Head of Product Development and Quality at Thüringer Tourismus Gesellschaft.

He has been working as hotel manager and host at the Waldkliniken Eisenberg for around four years. In this role, he is responsible for all hotel services, the kitchen, service and the Matteo restaurant.
