
Dr. med. Jörg Sandmann is a specialist in general medicine and urology with additional qualifications in geriatrics, emergency medicine, palliative medicine, andrology, as well as medicinal tumor therapy. He has been working in the medical field since 1985, initially in the medical service, in nursing, and then as a physician. He completed his training as a urologist mainly at UKSH, but also in surgery and internal medicine in order to obtain the specialist qualification in general medicine. He has also been involved in emergency medicine for just as long and serves as a volunteer sea emergency physician at the DGzRS station in Travemünde. As a reserve officer in the German Armed Forces, he looks back on 40 years of service and is a company commander in the Rapid Response Medical Service Command. He is regularly awarded the Focus seal as a general practitioner and, together with his team, received the Practice Award 2017 for innovative approaches in emergency care.
He describes testosterone deficiency and practice-oriented digitalization as his hobbies. He regularly documents his expertise in specialist publications and contributions to medical journals, podcasts, or lectures, with his comments or contributions on LinkedIn on digitalization in medicine being “particularly appreciated.”
