
After completing a banking apprenticeship at a savings bank, Prof. Dr. Peter Schaubach studied business administration at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt. After graduating with a degree in business administration, he completed a postgraduate program in financial economics as well as an intensive program in estate planning at the PFI Private Finance Institute / EBS Finanzakademie of EBS Business School in Wiesbaden/Oestrich-Winkel. In 2002, he earned his doctorate at EBS Business School on the topic “Family Office in Private Wealth Management.”
Since 1997, Professor Schaubach has held various positions at the PFI Private Finance Institute / EBS Finanzakademie of EBS Business School. In 2007, he founded the CFFO Competence Center for Family Office, which he led at EBS Business School until the end of 2019. Since its spin-off in 2020, the CFFO Competence Center for Family Offices, with its four areas of activity research/advisory, teaching, further education, and network, has operated independently as a think tank for wealth owners, family offices, and third parties.
Professor Schaubach was the founding managing director of FPSB Deutschland e.V. and is himself a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Certified Foundation and Estate Planner (CFEP). Since 2009, he has been an honorary professor at EBS Business School. In addition to publications and advisory activities on private wealth management and family offices, Professor Schaubach fulfills teaching commitments both in Germany and abroad. He is a member of various advisory boards.
