Andreas Schmidt has been responsible for IT security at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs since 2023 in his role as Chief Information Security Officer, overseeing the ministry itself as well as its subordinate authorities. Previously, he served as Head of IT and IT Security at the Federal Presidential Office. He is a certified auditor for ISO 27001 audits and has been working in the fields of IT and information security as well as data protection for more than two decades.

Andreas Schmidt teaches the practical methodology of IT and information security in training sessions and security awareness programs. He conducts risk management training for management and IT leaders and advises clients on the implementation of regulatory requirements.
