After completing his studies in business administration, he worked as a research assistant and lecturer at the Institute of Management at the Free University of Berlin.
During this time, he completed his doctorate with a dissertation on international joint ventures.

He then worked for a clothing trading and production company with headquarters in Hong Kong and production facilities in China.
At the same time, he was a guest lecturer for Sino-German business relations at the Baptist University in Hong Kong for several years.

He is an expert in both macroeconomic development and international trade and has extensive sales and management experience in the private sector.

Wing-Hin Chung grew up in Germany and is a German citizen.
He speaks German, English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
After a longer stay in Hong Kong, he moved back to Germany and has been living in Berlin since November 2012.
